Stop Pretending You Don't Need Validation
About this episode
You were told to stop needing it, be strong & self-sufficient, but every day you fall short of that standard because it was never a real one.
Needing validation is human, Sartre wrote that we exist differently when we are being seen. The question here is what happens when the recognition doesn't come, and what story you tell about the absence.
In this episode we look at what validation actually is, why it got such a bad reputation, and what the thought-rule underneath the need is protecting. We also talk about the other side of it, whether you are giving to the people around you what you are waiting to receive.
This is about knowing what to do when the need is real but validation does not come.
Enjoy,
